How to wear a summer dress in fall

Summer is over and knitwear is coming back. But, if you don’t feel ready to take out your summer wardrobe yet, you can still keep wearing your summer dresses for a couple months. Here is how.

layer it with a turtleneck or a shirt

A basic look that never goes out of style: layer your summer dress with a turtleneck or a shirt.

wear it as a top (or a jacket)

A maxi button-up dress can become a pretty top or even a cardigan: just wear it over pants, buttoned up from the waist to the neckline. If you want to wear a mini tight dress, you can wear it tucked inside your high-waisted pants or skirt. And your shirt dresses will look great over leggings and ankle booties.

add a matchy knit

Layer your summer dress with a matchy, oversized jumper or cardigan. You can put the waist in evidence by tying your jumper, by belting it or by wearing a belt under the jumper and tucking it inside the belt.

add coat(s) and boots

Another classic style: take a summer dress, add a coat (or a leather jacket, even a blazer and a coat: why not!), a pair of booties and a fedora hat, and rock the fall style.
